Cervical cancer has been making headlines lately: A report earlier this year found that more people die of the disease than we originally thought. Add the news that the disease is deadlier for certain women and there was a bit of a collective freak-out, especially since 99 percent of all cervical cancer cases are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted infection that 85 percent of sexually active women will contract in their lifetime.
